  • Part of our plan as a club is to help younger runners build their enjoyment and talents for running.  Many of our members have children that run casually, compete at Middle School/High School levels and participate through the various recreational Track and XC programs.

We welcome all paces and levels, so there’s always someone to run with at your speed. Plus, it’s a great way to meet new friends who share your passion for fitness and fun.

RACING WITH NYRR

MO Running Club is stepping onto the big stage! Our members are proud participants in New York Road Runners (NYRR) races, including the world-famous NYC Marathon. From the buzz of race expos to the unforgettable thrill of crossing the finish line, we’re out there representing Mount Olive with pride and a whole lot of energy.

Dreaming of running the NYC Marathon yourself? We’re here to help make it happen! The 9+1 program is your ticket to guaranteed entry, and our experienced members are happy to guide you through every step. From signing up for qualifying races to tackling training runs and celebrating milestones, the MORC crew will be with you all the way, cheering you on and sharing the journey.

Worried about getting to NYC for the races? No problem! We’ve set up a cool carpooling system so no one has to make the drive alone. You’ll not only save on parking but also enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow runners as you head to the city.

LOCAL & COMMUNITY RACES

Looking for some running buddies? Join our MO Running Club group runs and discover the joy of running with a supportive and enthusiastic community. Whether you’re new to running or a seasoned pro chasing your next goal, we welcome runners of all paces and experience levels.

Our group runs are about more than just logging miles—they’re about building friendships, sharing motivation, and having fun along the way. We participate in a variety of events, from casual local races like the S'mores Fun Run, Belmar 5 Miler, Huff & Puff Before You Stuff, and the Hot Cocoa Run, to larger organized races and weekend fun runs. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking to test your speed, build endurance, or simply enjoy a relaxed jog with friends.

All of our group run schedules are available on Strava, so it’s easy to find a time and location that works for you. Lace up your shoes, pick a run, and join us for the camaraderie and the miles—because running is always better with a crew by your side!

MO KIDS

Part of our plan as a club is to help younger runners build their enjoyment and talents for running. Many of our members have children who run casually, compete at the middle and high school levels, or participate in recreational track and cross-country programs.

Sunday Fun Runs
Coach Svenja organizes these relaxed runs in the summer and late fall to keep everyone active between track and XC seasons. Open to all, we ask that kids under 15 have a parent/guardian at the trailhead and those under 11 be accompanied on the trail. Runs, typically 3–6 miles, start on the Columbia Trail at the Coffee Potter in Long Valley. Check the "Group Runs" page for schedules.

5K Races
5Ks are a fun and accessible way for young runners to experience racing, challenge themselves, and prepare for competitive levels. Many local 5Ks, listed on our "Races" page, offer team options and are perfect for family participation.

Off-Season Schedule
Our club members share training ideas for younger runners to stay active during breaks. High school athletes often provide insights into summer and off-season programs to help build a strong foundation.

Mount Olive Junior Track & Cross Country
Recreational programs are a fantastic way for kids to stay active and develop skills. Visit the MO Track & XC website for more details (MO residents only).
